What Is IoT

Jun 08, 2023 Leave a message

IoT means Internet of Everything Connected, which has two meanings. First, the core and foundation of IoT is still the Internet, a network extended and expanded on the basis of the Internet; second, its user side is extended and expanded to exchange and communicate information between items and objects, that is, everything is connected.

IoT is an application expansion of the Internet. Instead of saying that IoT is a network, it is more like business and application. IoT is widely used in the convergence of networks through intelligent sensing, intelligent identification and information communication.

Currently, it is used in transportation, environmental protection, government work, security, smart home, fire fighting, environmental monitoring, lighting control and other fields.

Characteristics of IoT

In terms of communication objects and processes, information interaction between things and things and people and things is the core of IoT. The basic features of IoT can be summarized as overall perception, reliable transmission and intelligent processing.

  (1), overall perception

It can use radio frequency identification, two-dimensional code, intelligent sensors and other sensing devices to sense and obtain all kinds of information of objects.

  (2) Reliable transmission

Through the integration of Internet and wireless network, the information of objects can be transmitted in real time and accurately so that information can be exchanged and shared.

  (3), intelligent processing

Use a variety of intelligent technologies to analyze and process the sensed and transmitted data and information to achieve the intelligence of monitoring and control.

What are the IoT jobs?

①Industrial Data Engineer: Industrial data scientists are tasked with extracting and analyzing data and applying that data to identify problems with products for further improvement. Combined with the very strong growth in demand in areas such as e-commerce and consumer, industrial data engineers are currently a relatively popular position.

②IT/IoT Solution Architect. IT/IoT Solution Architect will work with other architects to integrate different technologies, platforms and people in order to make the overall solution better. IT/IoT Solution Architect will also be responsible for end-to-end application design, such as remote operating systems, predictive maintenance systems, augmented reality and other auxiliary operating systems.

③Industrial User Interface (UI)/ User Experience Designer (UX). From manufacturing instrument panels for tablets and cell phones, to machine interfaces to interact with robots, operation and maintenance of augmented reality applications, after-sales service, design of industrial products, these many application scenarios increase the demand for industrial user interface designers (UI). This is where the Industrial User Interface (UI) / User Experience Designer (UX) position comes in.
