It uses a COF (Chip‑on‑Flex) structure, only 3.45mm thick, with no need for an extra driver board. You can connect it directly to your main controller via the FPC cable, making it ideal for space‑constrained embedded devices and greatly simplifying overall system assembly.

Can I add an external touch panel to the non‑touch model (N version)?

Yes. All models reserve capacitive touch interfaces (I²C protocol + interrupt/reset pins). The ASTG028W023‑L240X320N‑COF supports third‑party capacitive touch modules, and the software can be configured accordingly.

Do I have to use your proprietary software to develop the UI? Is it difficult to learn?

We recommend using the official HMILite Configuration Software​ (free of charge). No low‑level driver coding is required-its drag‑and‑drop widgets allow you to build interfaces quickly. It also supports offline simulation, so beginners can usually complete a basic UI in just 1–2 days. Complex logic can be implemented via C‑language macro commands.

Do I need an additional converter board to communicate with MCUs or PLCs?

No. The display comes with one TTL UART (UART2) and one CAN bus (CAN1)​ onboard, with voltage levels directly compatible with mainstream MCUs and PLCs. Simply wire according to the pin definition, select the corresponding protocol (such as Modbus RTU or a custom protocol) in the software, and you're ready to go.
